Bayer Sues Russia’s Anti-Monopoly Watchdog

The head of Russia’s anti-monopoly watchdog says it is facing a lawsuit from Bayer over the German chemical giant’s proposed $66-billion merger with Monsanto, according to a Financial Times article.

The website cited Igor Artemiev saying that Bayer sued the agency over Russia’s demands that Bayer share its technology with the local agricultural sector. “They have so much big data that if you launch it all together, there won’t be much of our agriculture left,” Artemiev said.
