Pesticide Production and Exportation Decrease in 2015

According to data from the National Bureau of Statistics of China, 2015 pesticide production and exports decreased for the first time in the last five years, reports ChemLinked, by Reach24H Consulting Group. Pesticide exportation from January to November is down 138.15 million tones and decreased by 9.2% when compared to the same period in 2014. The value of those exports also declined from USD $87.60 billion in 2014 to USD $66.70 billion in 2015.

“The main reason that led to decrease of pesticide production is the environmental pressure and cost of raw material,” Wen Jun Zhang- Director of International Communication Department of ICAMA said in the Third Pesticide Import & Export Situation Conference. Zhang believes that with the release of environmental pressure, the exportation situation would rise in 2016 or 2017.
