Andhra Agricultural Universities Bring Up the Rear in All-India Ranking

Out of 57 agricultural universities (AUs) ranked by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) recently, not a single agricultural university from Andhra Pradesh has found a place in the top 10, according to Sribala Vadlapatla on TimesofIndia.com.

This was the first time it has undertaken such an exercise for agricultural universities across the country.

The only silver lining is that the Dr YSR Horticultural University in Venakatramana Gudem (Mafsu) ranked 26 in the list of AUs and second among horticultural universities.

The Acharya NG Ranga Agricultural University, Guntur ranked 27 and Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University ranked 40. However neighbouring Telangana’s Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University has been ranked 12 in the list of institutes. However, PV Narasimha Rao Telangana State Veterinary University lagged behind at 55.
