Ag Ministers of China, Estonia Discuss Trade
29 August 2017 A meeting between Estonia’s Minister of Rural Affairs Tarmo Tamm and China’s Minister of Agriculture Han Changfu on the sidelines of a forum in Slovakia was aimed to deepen bilateral relations and continue developing the trade partnership between the countries, according to an article on BalticTimes.com.
“A cooperation relationship between Estonia and China exists, trade barriers are falling and conditions for doing business have been created for our companies,” Tamm said through spokespeople after the meeting that took place on the fringes of the 12th China-Central and Eastern Europe Agrotrade and Economic Cooperation Forum.
“I hope that very soon we will be able to offer to China an even broader selection of our safe food produced using reliable production methods,” he said.
“High demands concerning safety and quality when it comes the consumption of food are common for Estonian and Chinese consumers and this is a field where we have extensive possibilities for cooperation,” Tamm said. “I hope that our fish and dairy products will find a way into the food chart of consumers in China and enrich the quality food market there. Also my Chinese colleague, Han, emphasized that the Chinese market is open to Estonian products and they are waiting for our products to enrich their offering of food,” the minister added.
