Eurofins Finalizes Acquisition of EAG Laboratories

Eurofins Scientific, parent company to Eurofins Agroscience Services Group, has announced the successful closing of the transaction to acquire EAG Laboratories (EAG), a global scientific services company. EAG is a leading North American provider of advanced chemical testing services for pesticides, industrial and household chemicals. It provides end-to-end support for efate, metabolism, eco-toxicology and residue studies required for pesticide and chemical regulatory testing to support global registration requirements. This is particularly exciting for Eurofins Agroscience Services, as the combination enables the group to serve our agrochemical customers worldwide with the highest levels of scientific and customer service.

The company has extensive expertise in testing molecules with highly complex profiles. EAG’s agroscience business is highly complementary to the existing Eurofins agroscience business in terms of capabilities, capacities and particularly geography. EAG offers end-to-end support for GLP-compliant environmental fate, metabolism, eco-toxicology and residue testing services required by various environmental regulatory bodies. The company has in recent years established itself as an industry leader in North America—complementing Eurofins’ position in Europe and elsewhere around the world.

Klaus Kuegler, Senior Vice President of Eurofins Agroscience Services Group stated, “With EAG on board, our ability to deliver a global, market-leading solution for the registration of agrochemicals is unrivalled. No other solution provider offers a more comprehensive suite of testing and regulatory services required for government regulatory approvals in North America, Europe, Asia and Latin America.”

Amanda Halford, Executive Vice President of EAG’s Life Sciences Division commented, “As always, our priority is to deliver the high level of customer service, technical excellence and overall quality that our customers have come to expect. We look forward to working with our colleagues at Eurofins to further enhance our offering, and to ensure the best customer experience in the industry.” Halford added that points of contact for existing customers will not change.
