Cheminova Launches Herbicide for Glyphosate-Resistant Weeds

STATEMENT protects cotton postemergence

Statement may be applied posteemergence on cotton to control grasses, broadleaf weeds and sedges.

Cheminova Inc., the U.S. subsidiary of Denmark-based Cheminova A/S, debuted a new herbicide, Statement, for growers looking to control glyphosate- and ALS-resistant weeds in both soybeans and cotton.

Used on soybean fields prior to planting, the herbicide inhibits annual grass and broadleaf weeds, preempts early weeds and offers residual control.

“Soybean growers looking for an affordable preemergent herbicide will love Statement for its dual modes of action and residual control of broadleaf and grassy weeds,” said Cheminova Product Manager Ken Phelps in a press release.

Applied postemergence on cotton, the product neutralizes grass, broadleaf weed, and sedge growth, offering farmers more flexibility, Phelps explained. It may also be tank mixed with other labeled post-directed herbicides to broaden the weed control spectrum in cotton.
