FMC Offers Preplant Label for Cadet Herbicide

FMC Corporation’s Cadet Herbicide now offers the additional benefit of preplant, in addition to early post treatments for greater application flexibility in both corn and soybeans, according to a press release.
Applied in a tank mix with glyphosate, Cadet helps to burndown tough broadleaf weeds to get fields ready for planting earlier.

“This newly approved wider application window in corn and soybeans allows for greater flexibility of use. Cadet now serves as a reliable and effective tank-mix partner with a variety of other herbicides in pre and post applications,” said Yemel Ortega, product manager for FMC Agricultural Products in a prepared statement. “Controlling weeds early provides cost-effective, broad spectrum control, ensuring higher yields and profitable crop production.”

With the new label, Cadet may be applied in soybeans from preplant through the full flowering stage of development (prior to R3 stage). In field corn and popcorn, Cadet may be applied from prior to planting until the corn is 48-inch tall or prior to tasseling, whichever comes first, according to FMC.
