EU Re-Registers Fipronil

The decision moves fipronil one step away from formal adoption by the European Commission (EC), which will set a date the active’s inclusion in Annex I of the EU agrochemical registration Directive (91/414).

Fipronil-based seed treatments are registered in over 20 countries. BASF, which applauded the decision, acquired global rights for agricultural applications of the active from Bayer CropScience in 2003.
