Con la nueva ley de OGM, la importaci\u00f3n serbia de harina de soja (de soja Roundup Ready) para la alimentaci\u00f3n del ganado ya no es posible, seg\u00fan un <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fas.usda.gov\">USDA-FAS<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/gain.fas.usda.gov\/Pages\/Default.aspx\">GANAR<\/a> informe.<\/p>\n<p>La Ley de Organismos Gen\u00e9ticamente Modificados adoptada por el Parlamento de Serbia el 29 de mayo de 2009 regula las condiciones b\u00e1sicas para el uso de OMG en sistemas cerrados (trabajo de laboratorio, invernaderos) y la liberaci\u00f3n deliberada al medio ambiente (trabajo experimental en el campo) de OMG. La ley proh\u00edbe el cultivo comercial de OGM o el comercio con OGM y productos derivados de OGM, una pr\u00e1ctica considerada m\u00e1s restrictiva que las regulaciones de la UE. De acuerdo con la ley de OGM anterior, era posible importar soja Roundup Ready (RR), el \u00fanico producto OGM que se permit\u00eda importar a Serbia debido a la producci\u00f3n local limitada y al d\u00e9ficit constante de harina de soja para la alimentaci\u00f3n del ganado. Seg\u00fan la nueva ley, Serbia ya no podr\u00e1 importar harina de soja de la soja RR y los productores locales de alimentos para ganado tendr\u00e1n que comprar harina de soja a los productores locales. Serbia importaba principalmente harina de soja de Brasil y Argentina.<\/p>\n<p>Para los a\u00f1os 2009\/10, Serbia plant\u00f3 160.000 hect\u00e1reas (Ha) de soja y, dado un rendimiento promedio de 2,3 TM \/ Ha, probablemente producir\u00e1 alrededor de 360,000 TM de soja. La producci\u00f3n local de harina de soja ha aumentado durante los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os debido al aumento de la superficie plantada con soja y la ampliaci\u00f3n de las instalaciones locales de trituraci\u00f3n. Para MY09 \/ 10 se prev\u00e9 que alcance las 220.000 TM.
