Los altos precios internacionales del caf\u00e9 durante los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os han llevado a los caficultores costarricenses a invertir en insumos y pr\u00e1cticas mejoradas, aumentando el rendimiento cafetero del pa\u00eds. Seg\u00fan el Servicio de Agricultura Exterior del Departamento de Agricultura de EE. UU. (USDA-FAS<\/a>), el Instituto Costarricense del Caf\u00e9 (ICAFE<\/a>) espera un aumento de 5.6% en la producci\u00f3n en 2007\/08 y una producci\u00f3n similar en 2008\/09, a pesar de ser el a\u00f1o m\u00e1s bajo en el ciclo del caf\u00e9.<\/p>\n

La producci\u00f3n alcanz\u00f3 los 1,88 millones de 60 kg. sacos en 2007\/2008, frente a 1,78 millones en 2006\/2007. No se espera que la superficie plantada cambie significativamente en los pr\u00f3ximos a\u00f1os.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
