UU.<a href=\"http:\/\/www.fas.usda.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">USDA-FAS<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>La estimaci\u00f3n del gobierno paquistan\u00ed de una cosecha excelente de 23,5 TM, en comparaci\u00f3n con un promedio anual de 21,5 TM, se mantuvo a pesar de un aumento en el \u00e1rea de cultivo de solo 1% durante 2006, seg\u00fan USDA-FAS. Si bien las condiciones de cultivo fueron favorables, la mayor\u00eda cree que la cosecha es al menos un mill\u00f3n de toneladas m\u00e1s baja que la estimaci\u00f3n del gobierno.<\/p>\n<p>Motivado en parte por las expectativas de una cosecha excelente, en abril el gobierno levant\u00f3 la prohibici\u00f3n de las exportaciones de trigo que se puso en vigor en 2003. Con los precios internacionales del trigo fuertes, los exportadores enviaron 500.000 toneladas de trigo antes de que el gobierno restableciera la prohibici\u00f3n de exportaci\u00f3n a finales Mayo.
