CAAS posee conjuntamente los derechos del gen Bt desarrollado internamente. <em>bacilo turingiensico <\/em>o &quot;Bt&quot; es una bacteria del suelo com\u00fan que produce cristales que son t\u00f3xicos para ciertos insectos. Origin Biotechnology ya posee los derechos sobre este rasgo gen\u00e9tico en China nacional, y ha estado pasando este producto a trav\u00e9s de los ensayos regulatorios del Ministerio de Agricultura. Este gen Bt en particular, que ha demostrado ser eficaz tanto en el laboratorio como en el campo, es novedoso para los mercados de consumidores, ya que nunca se ha comercializado y est\u00e1 protegido por patentes otorgadas por separado por China y EE.
