La conferencia LATAM de Grupo de pol\u00edticas de agroqu\u00edmicos<\/a> (APG), un organismo de 200 empresas de protecci\u00f3n de cultivos, dice que India sigue siendo v\u00edctima de bajos rendimientos debido a la infrautilizaci\u00f3n de los productos de protecci\u00f3n de cultivos por parte de los agricultores. La historia, publicada originalmente en el L\u00ednea de negocios hind\u00fa<\/a>, se\u00f1ala que el uso promedio de pesticidas en la India es de aproximadamente 480 gramos por hect\u00e1rea (Ha), que es mucho m\u00e1s bajo que en EE. UU., la UE, Jap\u00f3n y Taiw\u00e1n. APG dijo que tan solo 25% de los campos de la India est\u00e1n adecuadamente protegidos contra las plagas.<\/p>\n

Con el Banco Mundial<\/a> diciendo que los precios de los alimentos se han duplicado durante los \u00faltimos tres a\u00f1os y amenazando con empujar a\u00fan m\u00e1s a la pobreza a 100 millones de personas en pa\u00edses de bajos ingresos, APG dijo que ahora es el momento de mejorar los rendimientos.<\/p>\n

S. Kumarasamy, presidente de APG, dijo que la p\u00e9rdida de cultivos en la India fue causada por solo una cuarta parte del \u00e1rea total cultivada de 180 millones de hect\u00e1reas tratada con productos qu\u00edmicos para la protecci\u00f3n de cultivos. A\u00f1adi\u00f3 que existe una necesidad urgente de mejorar la producci\u00f3n agr\u00edcola, y que los agricultores podr\u00edan estar seguros de un retorno de cinco veces el dinero gastado en pesticidas.<\/p>\n
