Esta dr\u00e1stica disminuci\u00f3n ha provocado un colapso casi total de la vida microbiana del suelo, un componente vital para mantener la fertilidad del suelo y el rendimiento de los cultivos.<\/p>\n<p>Este problema se agrava por la pol\u00edtica gubernamental de subvencionar la urea a aproximadamente 10 centavos de d\u00f3lar por kilogramo. Esto abarata excesivamente los fertilizantes nitrogenados, lo que lleva a los productores a abusar de ella, distorsionando a\u00fan m\u00e1s la nutrici\u00f3n de los cultivos y acelerando la degradaci\u00f3n del suelo. Si bien muchos productores reconocen los da\u00f1os a largo plazo de la dependencia qu\u00edmica, la ausencia de alternativas biol\u00f3gicas asequibles y eficaces los mantiene atados a los fertilizantes convencionales para alcanzar sus objetivos de producci\u00f3n a corto plazo.<\/p>\n<p>La escala de este problema es monumental: los 140 millones de productores de  India cultivan colectivamente aproximadamente 140 millones de hect\u00e1reas de tierra cultivable, presentando una enorme oportunidad para intervenciones que restauran la vitalidad del suelo.<\/p>\n<h2>\u00bfC\u00f3mo ser\u00eda una soluci\u00f3n biol\u00f3gica revolucionaria?<\/h2>\n<p>Para que los productos de nutrici\u00f3n biol\u00f3gica de cultivos revolucionen la agricultura india, deben cumplir criterios rigurosos, entre ellos:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Compatibilidad con fertilizantes qu\u00edmicos existentes<\/li>\n<li>Eficacia en m\u00faltiples tipos de cultivos y diversas condiciones de suelo, particularmente en suelos con bajo contenido de COS<\/li>\n<li>Respuestas visibles del crecimiento de las plantas poco despu\u00e9s de la aplicaci\u00f3n<\/li>\n<li>Larga vida \u00fatil, idealmente dos a\u00f1os.<\/li>\n<li>Capacidad de soportar altas temperaturas ambientales superiores a 35 \u00b0C sin requerir un almacenamiento especial.<\/li>\n<li>Aprovechamiento de prebi\u00f3ticos y probi\u00f3ticos en la agricultura<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Los prebi\u00f3ticos y las vitaminas son esencialmente alimento para las bacterias del suelo. Las vitaminas, los minerales y los estimulantes fomentan un entorno propicio para el r\u00e1pido crecimiento microbiano. Se trata de consorcios microbianos beneficiosos: grupos de microbios que trabajan sin\u00e9rgicamente. Considerando la gran variedad agroclim\u00e1tica de India, depender de una sola cepa microbiana resultar\u00eda ineficaz. En su lugar, se adopta un enfoque basado en consorcios para distribuir m\u00faltiples nutrientes de forma eficiente en diversos tipos de suelo.<\/p>\n<p>Entre estos microbios, predominan las especies de Bacillus. Su resiliencia se debe a su capacidad \u00fanica para formar esporas, lo que prolonga considerablemente la vida \u00fatil del producto. Su compatibilidad con entornos de alta temperatura los hace ideales para producir formulaciones en polvo estables y solubles. Al ser organismos aer\u00f3bicos que habitan naturalmente en el suelo, los Bacillus colonizan eficientemente los campos con el apoyo de prebi\u00f3ticos y funcionan bien junto con insumos qu\u00edmicos est\u00e1ndar como la urea y el DAP.<\/p>\n<h2>Micorrizas: las verdaderamente transformadoras<\/h2>\n<p>Los insumos biol\u00f3gicos m\u00e1s transformadores comercializados recientemente son las micorrizas, hongos simbi\u00f3ticos estrechamente asociados con las ra\u00edces de las plantas. Se prefieren los polvos solubles por su f\u00e1cil aplicaci\u00f3n mediante sistemas de riego por goteo, cruciales para la agricultura de precisi\u00f3n moderna.<\/p>\n<p>Como alternativa, los biofertilizantes pueden transportarse en gr\u00e1nulos de bentonita para su aplicaci\u00f3n al voleo.
