En los \u00faltimos cinco a\u00f1os, estos UAS para aplicaciones de carga pesada se han vuelto mucho m\u00e1s viables comercialmente al aumentar su capacidad de carga \u00fatil, mejorar sus capacidades aut\u00f3nomas y contar con un hardware m\u00e1s robusto y escalable.<\/p>\n<p>Con la comercializaci\u00f3n de este tipo de UAS, el c\u00edrculo se cierra, por as\u00ed decirlo, y los agricultores ahora pueden pasar de la exploraci\u00f3n a la aplicaci\u00f3n, hasta la recopilaci\u00f3n de datos posteriores a la aplicaci\u00f3n para determinar la eficacia de los tratamientos, informando las acciones siguientes.<\/p>\n<p>En 2024, los grandes avances en la tecnolog\u00eda de los UAS agr\u00edcolas han preparado el terreno para su adopci\u00f3n masiva en el mercado. A continuaci\u00f3n, se muestran algunos ejemplos que destacan los \u00faltimos avances en la industria:<\/p>\n<h3>1. Permiso de la FAA para aglomerar drones agr\u00edcolas de carga pesada<\/h3>\n<p>A partir de febrero de 2024, el fabricante de UAS agr\u00edcolas con sede en Texas, EUA, Hylio, se convirti\u00f3 en la primera empresa de EUA en obtener permiso de la FAA para aglomerar los UAS que superen las 55 libras para aplicaciones agr\u00edcolas. Esto significa que ahora un solo operador puede comandar legalmente hasta tres UAS por s\u00ed solo, sin la necesidad de un VO (observador visual) ni ning\u00fan otro personal de apoyo adicional. Esta decisi\u00f3n sienta un precedente, lo que significa que otras empresas y operadores en el espacio pueden citar la exenci\u00f3n de Hylio y tambi\u00e9n obtener los mismos permisos de aglomeraci\u00f3n. Esto marca el comienzo de un cambio dram\u00e1tico en la productividad general de los UAS para aplicaciones agr\u00edcolas a gran escala, mientras que mejora significativamente la econom\u00eda de la unidad. Mientras que antes un operador con un UAS podr\u00eda tratar quiz\u00e1s alrededor de 50 acres por hora, un operador que implementa tres UAS ahora puede tratar cerca de 150 acres \/ hora. Adem\u00e1s, las regulaciones de la FAA sol\u00edan requerir dos personas (un piloto y un observador visual) para cada UAS de m\u00e1s de 55 libras; Esto significa que una operaci\u00f3n con tres UAS requerir\u00eda legalmente seis personas. Con la concesi\u00f3n a Hylio de esta exenci\u00f3n que sienta un precedente, el personal necesario para una operaci\u00f3n con tres UAS se reduce de seis a uno, una reducci\u00f3n dr\u00e1stica del coste de mano de obra y de la ineficiencia.<\/p>\n<h3>2. Vuelo nocturno<\/h3>\n<p>Junto con la exenci\u00f3n de aglomeraci\u00f3n mencionada en el punto (1) anterior, Hylio tambi\u00e9n se convirti\u00f3 en la primera empresa en recibir el permiso de la FAA para operar UAS agr\u00edcolas de noche. Esto tambi\u00e9n sienta un precedente y lo pueden citar otros operadores y empresas en los EUA. Esto no solo aumenta la capacidad productiva de los UAS al permitirles aprovechar m\u00e1s de 10 horas adicionales por d\u00eda, sino que muchos tratamientos de cultivos son m\u00e1s efectivos cuando se aplican de noche debido a mejores condiciones. Evitar la luz solar directa y el calor del d\u00eda ayuda a mitigar la evaporaci\u00f3n y la inversi\u00f3n de los insumos del cultivo. Adicionalmente, la velocidad del viento ambiental suele ser menor,  reduciendo el potencial de riesgosa deriva de pesticidas.<\/p>\n<h3>3. Desarrollo de sistemas alternativos de energ\u00eda y propulsi\u00f3n.<\/h3>\n<p>En 2024, la industria experiment\u00f3 un aumento en el desarrollo de fuentes de combustible alternativas a las bater\u00edas de litio para los UAS agr\u00edcolas. Varias empresas del sector est\u00e1n explorando una variedad de enfoques, que van desde sistemas h\u00edbridos de motor de combusti\u00f3n interna y bater\u00eda, hidr\u00f3geno e incluso sistemas de transmisi\u00f3n hidr\u00e1ulicos. Estas innumerables opciones ofrecen diferentes ventajas y desventajas, pero una l\u00ednea com\u00fan es una mayor capacidad de carga \u00fatil y una mayor resistencia en comparaci\u00f3n con los sistemas tradicionales basados en bater\u00edas de litio.<\/p>\n<h3>4. Legislaci\u00f3n para apoyar a los fabricantes con sede en Estados Unidos<\/h3>\n<p>Si bien algunos elementos de la Ley de Lucha contra los Drones del PCCh de la representante Elise Stefanik, como su intenci\u00f3n de prohibir efectivamente cualquier modelo de DJI en los EE. UU. en el futuro revocando su capacidad para obtener licencias de la FCC, la legislaci\u00f3n tambi\u00e9n se ha presentado junto con una disposici\u00f3n para financiar y apoyar a los fabricantes de UAS con sede en los EE. Independientemente de si se implementan o no las partes de la legislaci\u00f3n que apuntan a los fabricantes con sede en China, los esfuerzos para apoyar a los fabricantes con sede en los EE. UU. reciben un amplio apoyo e indican que los operadores de la industria pueden comenzar a tener m\u00e1s opciones estadounidenses y no chinas para elegir en el futuro cercano.<\/p>\n<h3>5. Avances en inteligencia artificial<\/h3>\n<p>La inteligencia artificial ha sido un tema popular en 2024 con el auge de potentes LLM como ChatGpt y Grok. En el sector agr\u00edcola, estos avances en IA est\u00e1n permitiendo una identificaci\u00f3n cada vez m\u00e1s sofisticada y optimizada de malezas, plagas y otros objetivos a monitorear en el ciclo de cultivo.<\/p>\n<p>Grandes nombres de la industria, como John Deere con su tecnolog\u00eda See and Spray, est\u00e1n implementando tecnolog\u00eda que puede reducir significativamente la cantidad de insumos necesarios hasta en 80%.
