KG, una empresa finlandesa de tecnolog\u00eda limpia que recupera nitr\u00f3geno y f\u00f3sforo de las aguas residuales para producir insumos de grado fertilizante, ha inaugurado una planta piloto en sus instalaciones de Biogas Westerbakum GmbH &amp; Co. KG en Baja Sajonia, marcando as\u00ed su entrada en Alemania, el mayor mercado de biog\u00e1s de Europa. La unidad de demostraci\u00f3n operar\u00e1 durante 4 meses y est\u00e1 dise\u00f1ada para procesar continuamente aproximadamente 20 metros c\u00fabicos diarios de digestato l\u00edquido \u2014el subproducto rico en nutrientes que queda tras la producci\u00f3n de biog\u00e1s\u2014 y recuperar hasta aproximadamente 26 toneladas al a\u00f1o. El proyecto permite a los operadores extraer nutrientes aprovechables directamente de los subproductos, transformando el digestato de un coste de gesti\u00f3n en un recurso comercial. A medida que Alemania endurece la normativa sobre nutrientes en l\u00ednea con los l\u00edmites de nitratos de la UE, esta instalaci\u00f3n demuestra c\u00f3mo las plantas de biog\u00e1s pueden reforzar el cumplimiento normativo y, al mismo tiempo, mejorar la productividad de sus activos.<\/p>\n<p>La unidad de demostraci\u00f3n comenz\u00f3 a operar el 10 de marzo, y su rendimiento se monitoriz\u00f3 mediante datos en l\u00ednea y an\u00e1lisis de laboratorio peri\u00f3dicos durante el primer mes de funcionamiento. Al mismo tiempo, los mercados de fertilizantes <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fb.org\/market-intel\/fertilizer-outlook-global-risks-higher-costs-tighter-margins\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">siguen siendo vol\u00e1tiles<\/a>, lo que genera demanda de insumos nutritivos producidos localmente. Al recuperar nitr\u00f3geno y f\u00f3sforo directamente de los subproductos del biog\u00e1s, NPHarvest permite a los operadores reducir los excedentes y, al mismo tiempo, generar un producto vendible a partir de lo que de otro modo representar\u00eda una carga de cumplimiento normativo.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLas plantas de biog\u00e1s se dise\u00f1aron para producir energ\u00eda renovable, pero tambi\u00e9n generan flujos de nutrientes con un valor considerable a\u00fan por explotar\u201d, afirm\u00f3 el Dr. Juho Uzkurt Kaljunen, director ejecutivo de NPHarvest. \u201cConsideramos que la recuperaci\u00f3n de nutrientes representa un avance estructural para el sector, que permite a los operadores mejorar la productividad de sus activos sin ampliar su superficie f\u00edsica. Alemania es un referente en operaciones de biog\u00e1s en Europa y, al integrar la recuperaci\u00f3n de nutrientes en la infraestructura existente, tiene la oportunidad de liderar la siguiente fase de la industria, donde la producci\u00f3n de energ\u00eda y la eficiencia de los recursos avanzan de la mano\u201d.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A diferencia de muchos sistemas convencionales de recuperaci\u00f3n de nutrientes que requieren extracci\u00f3n intensiva en energ\u00eda o transporte a larga distancia, el proceso basado en membranas de NPHarvest recupera nitr\u00f3geno y f\u00f3sforo con bajo consumo energ\u00e9tico y una dosificaci\u00f3n simplificada, lo que permite su integraci\u00f3n modular en la infraestructura de biog\u00e1s existente. La tecnolog\u00eda de NPHarvest es capaz de capturar hasta 901 TP3T de nitr\u00f3geno y f\u00f3sforo de corrientes de residuos l\u00edquidos y convertirlos en insumos clave para la producci\u00f3n de fertilizantes, como sulfato de amonio y fosfato de calcio.
