Tanto los funcionarios mexicanos como los estadounidenses han declarado que la renegociaci\u00f3n del TLCAN no se reabrir\u00e1, ya que ninguna de las partes consider\u00f3 que los acuerdos vigentes podr\u00edan modificarse con \u00e9xito. El Servicio de Agricultura Exterior del Departamento de Agricultura de EE. UU. (USDA-FAS<\/a>) informa que la Secretar\u00eda de Relaciones Exteriores (SRE) de M\u00e9xico afirm\u00f3 que la reapertura de las negociaciones del TLCAN podr\u00eda causar m\u00e1s problemas de los que resolver\u00eda. Arturo Sarukhan, embajador en Estados Unidos, dijo: \u201cDesde mi perspectiva, la renegociaci\u00f3n no es una opci\u00f3n porque ser\u00eda como abrir la Caja de Pandora, e iniciar\u00eda un proceso de cuestionamiento fundamental de un acuerdo que fue otorgado y que ha brindado invaluables beneficios a M\u00e9xico. , \u201dDijo Sarukhan.<\/p>\n

Mark Keenum, subsecretario de Agricultura de Estados Unidos, tambi\u00e9n dijo que el TLCAN no ser\u00eda renegociado. \u201cNo hay nada que negociar y no estamos aqu\u00ed para renegociar o hablar sobre la gesti\u00f3n del comercio\u201d, dijo Keenum. \u201cEstamos aqu\u00ed para hablar sobre los aspectos y componentes positivos de nuestras econom\u00edas bajo el TLCAN\u201d, explic\u00f3.
