Una disminuci\u00f3n en los costos de combustible y mano de obra hizo que los costos de producci\u00f3n cayeran, y los rendimientos de la soja en Argentina aumentaron 11% entre 1991 y 2008 debido a la adopci\u00f3n de glifosato y otros herbicidas asequibles.<\/p>\n<p>Entre 1991 y 2008, los costos de producci\u00f3n disminuyeron $4.7 mil millones y los ingresos brutos subieron $12 mil millones debido a la adopci\u00f3n de pr\u00e1cticas de labranza cero. Combinado con el beneficio acumulado de $17 mil millones de la reducci\u00f3n de los precios globales de los productos de consumo que utilizan soja y ma\u00edz, la adopci\u00f3n de herbicidas en Argentina ha generado $30 mil millones en beneficios econ\u00f3micos, seg\u00fan el estudio.<\/p>\n<p>La acumulaci\u00f3n de agua en el suelo aument\u00f3 4 pulgadas mediante el uso de m\u00e9todos de labranza cero, que expandieron la superficie cultivada de soja y ma\u00edz en \u00e1reas menos favorables.<\/p>\n<p>Los agricultores argentinos hab\u00edan utilizado tradicionalmente la labranza para eliminar las malas hierbas de los campos. Sin embargo, esto provoc\u00f3 una disminuci\u00f3n significativa de los nutrientes del suelo, la materia org\u00e1nica del suelo, la estructura y la humedad del suelo y un aumento de la erosi\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>Una vez que los investigadores argentinos presentaron evidencia de los beneficios del uso de herbicidas y la labranza cero, los agricultores comenzaron a expandir su uso de productos fitosanitarios, en particular glifosato.<\/p>\n<p>Los agricultores del pa\u00eds formaron una nueva organizaci\u00f3n, la Asociaci\u00f3n Argentina de Agricultores Sin Labranza, para promover la adopci\u00f3n de la labranza cero.
