El aumento de la agricultura de cultivos para biocombustibles y el uso de semillas gen\u00e9ticamente modificadas (GM) hizo que las ventas de pesticidas en Argentina y Brasil aumentaran a m\u00e1s del doble entre 2006 y 2011, y Brasil super\u00f3 a EE. UU. Para convertirse en el mercado m\u00e1s grande del mundo.<\/p>\n<p>China se convirti\u00f3 en el cuarto mercado nacional m\u00e1s grande (y superar\u00e1 a Jap\u00f3n para convertirse en el tercero m\u00e1s grande en 2016) ya que el aumento de la producci\u00f3n de plaguicidas en el pa\u00eds mejor\u00f3 la disponibilidad nacional de plaguicidas y facilit\u00f3 tasas de utilizaci\u00f3n en fuerte aumento. Los pa\u00edses desarrollados, especialmente en Europa occidental, han experimentado cambios significativos en la combinaci\u00f3n de productos debido al advenimiento de regulaciones m\u00e1s estrictas.<\/p>\n<p>El crecimiento m\u00e1s r\u00e1pido de la demanda de plaguicidas se espera en los pa\u00edses en desarrollo de Europa del Este, Am\u00e9rica del Sur y Asia. La creciente producci\u00f3n de semillas de colza y cereales, junto con t\u00e9cnicas agr\u00edcolas mejoradas, impulsar\u00e1 la demanda en Europa del Este. Ucrania y Rusia ofrecer\u00e1n un fuerte potencial de crecimiento debido a sus bajas tasas de utilizaci\u00f3n en comparaci\u00f3n con otros pa\u00edses europeos. Por el contrario, el crecimiento de la demanda en Europa Occidental, Jap\u00f3n y Corea del Sur ser\u00e1 d\u00e9bil, obstaculizado por la madurez del mercado y las tasas de uso ya elevadas. Un cambio en la mezcla de productos y el uso de t\u00e9cnicas de manejo integrado de plagas (MIP) frenar\u00e1n el crecimiento en Europa Occidental.<\/p>\n<p>La resistencia a los herbicidas sigue siendo un problema y est\u00e1 impulsando la demanda de nuevas formulaciones con m\u00faltiples ingredientes activos, que generar\u00e1n precios m\u00e1s altos en el futuro. Si bien la demanda de insecticidas se beneficiar\u00e1 de la adopci\u00f3n de productos m\u00e1s seguros y de mayor precio, el crecimiento se ver\u00e1 limitado por las preocupaciones ambientales, el uso de t\u00e9cnicas de MIP y la popularidad de las variedades de cultivos resistentes a los insectos.
