M\u00e9xico aprob\u00f3 sus primeros permisos para cultivos de prueba de ma\u00edz gen\u00e9ticamente modificado (GM), seg\u00fan Independiente en l\u00ednea<\/a>. Los ministerios de agricultura y medio ambiente anunciaron los dos primeros permisos, pero no nombraron a las empresas involucradas ni especificaron d\u00f3nde estaban los campos. Dijeron que se hab\u00edan realizado 35 solicitudes de permisos.<\/p>\n

Los primeros permisos se aplicar\u00edan en condiciones controladas, "totalmente aislado de otros cultivos", dijo el comunicado de los ministerios. M\u00e9xico es el primer productor mundial de ma\u00edz blanco.<\/p>\n

Preocupado de que las variedades transg\u00e9nicas puedan contaminar las variedades prehisp\u00e1nicas de ma\u00edz de M\u00e9xico, grupo ambientalista Paz verde<\/a> Inmediatamente plane\u00f3 presentar mociones en la corte para \u201cprevenir este delito ambiental\u201d, dijo la representante Aleira Lara.<\/p>\n
