Nelson ve una gran oportunidad para el Eastern Corn Belt.<br \/>\n\u201cEn el pasado, ese mercado tradicionalmente solo aplicaba NPK\u201d, dice. \u201cSi no est\u00e1 aplicando micronutrientes, la planta tiene que extraer los micronutrientes del suelo. Las pruebas de suelo est\u00e1n comenzando a mostrar que los niveles de micronutrientes disminuyen en estas regiones. La investigaci\u00f3n independiente es otra herramienta que ayuda a los fabricantes y distribuidores a vender a los productores el valor de los micronutrientes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNecesitamos respaldar eso con datos, para que puedan convencer completamente (a los productores) de que existe una tecnolog\u00eda que puede serles de ayuda. Esa es la raz\u00f3n por la que tenemos \u00e9xito en estos pa\u00edses \u201d.<\/p>\n<p><strong>La importancia de la educaci\u00f3n<\/strong><br \/>\nEl segmento moderno de micronutrientes existe desde hace d\u00e9cadas, pero eso no significa que los productores comprendan los beneficios.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cVemos que en \u00e1reas donde el suelo agr\u00edcola no ha sido bien cuidado, las deficiencias de micronutrientes son cada vez m\u00e1s evidentes y los productores est\u00e1n reconociendo la necesidad de reponer esos nutrientes en el suelo\u201d, dice Smith. \u201cLos productores descubren que continuar con las mismas pr\u00e1cticas que siempre han usado est\u00e1 dando como resultado una disminuci\u00f3n de los rendimientos, por lo que est\u00e1n buscando soluciones\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Al principio, los productores de frutas y verduras adoptaron los micronutrientes, dice Georgis.
