(AVS), para desarrollar la tecnolog\u00eda Optimum Haploid Value (OHV) que puede seleccionar las variedades parentales \u00f3ptimas para el fitomejoramiento. Esta tecnolog\u00eda se otorga a BTI y la Universidad de Cornell a trav\u00e9s de una licencia no exclusiva y libre de regal\u00edas para uso sin fines de lucro para apoyar el mejoramiento de la yuca. La tecnolog\u00eda OHV se implementar\u00e1 en la base de datos de Cassavabase (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cassavabase.org\" target=\"_blank\">https:\/\/www.cassavabase.org<\/a>), mantenido en BTI, como parte del proyecto NextGeneration Cassava Breeding (NextGen).<\/p>\n<p>NextGen es una asociaci\u00f3n internacional que beneficia al Instituto Internacional de Agricultura Tropical (IITA) y al Instituto Nacional de Investigaci\u00f3n de Cultivos de Ra\u00edz (NRCRI) en Nigeria, al Instituto Nacional de Investigaci\u00f3n de Recursos de Cultivos (NaCRRI) en Uganda y al Instituto de Investigaci\u00f3n Agr\u00edcola de Tanzania ( TARI). OHV puede acortar los ciclos de reproducci\u00f3n, proporcionar una evaluaci\u00f3n precisa del rendimiento de la planta en la etapa de pl\u00e1ntula y brindar a los fitomejoradores la capacidad de evaluar una cantidad mucho mayor de plantas sin la necesidad de cultivarlas en el entorno de destino.
