El proyecto pondr\u00e1 en marcha sistemas de riego y tambi\u00e9n facilitar\u00e1 la compra de fertilizantes para impulsar la producci\u00f3n agr\u00edcola en esta regi\u00f3n que durante a\u00f1os se ha visto obstaculizada por sequ\u00edas prolongadas.<\/p>\n<p>Se espera que el proyecto comience a principios del pr\u00f3ximo a\u00f1o (2010) y se ejecutar\u00e1 durante un per\u00edodo de seis a\u00f1os.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEl crecimiento econ\u00f3mico sostenido y la reducci\u00f3n de la pobreza dependen de la inversi\u00f3n continua en agricultura. Desempe\u00f1a un papel importante en el crecimiento, que es necesario para reducir la pobreza y garantizar la seguridad alimentaria \u201d, dijo el ministro de Finanzas, James Musoni, en la ceremonia de firma celebrada en el Ministerio de Finanzas, seg\u00fan <a href=\"http:\/\/allafrica.com\/stories\/200910270065.html\">allafrica.com<\/a>.<br \/> Diko Mukete, representante residente del BAfD, se\u00f1al\u00f3 que la regi\u00f3n de Bugesera ha sufrido inseguridad alimentaria durante muchos a\u00f1os debido al r\u00e1pido crecimiento de la poblaci\u00f3n y la disminuci\u00f3n de la producci\u00f3n agr\u00edcola.
