Se ha instado a los agricultores de Sud\u00e1frica a permanecer alerta a la presencia de gusano cogollero (FAW)<\/a> durante la temporada de producci\u00f3n agr\u00edcola 2019\/2020, y para explorar regularmente sus cultivos en busca de larvas y huevos en sus tierras, escribe Jeandr\u00e9 van der Walt en Semanal del granjero<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Roedolf Nieuwenhuis, propietario de Crop Watch Africa, dijo Semanal del granjero<\/em> que en base a datos hist\u00f3ricos recopilados por la empresa, se detectaron grandes cantidades de polillas en trampas durante el mismo per\u00edodo de la temporada anterior. \u201cSi los agricultores est\u00e1n observando la actividad de las polillas en sus trampas, es muy importante buscar huevos y larvas\u201d, advirti\u00f3.<\/p>\n

Dijo que, si bien podr\u00eda ser una tarea gigantesca para los agricultores comerciales a gran escala, era muy importante, ya que la detecci\u00f3n temprana podr\u00eda ser la clave para contener los brotes de gusano cogollero.<\/p>\n
