Su uso ayudar\u00eda a reducir el impacto ambiental que tienen los herbicidas qu\u00edmicos y evitar\u00eda que se produzcan resistencias por el uso excesivo de las soluciones actuales.<\/p>\n<p>Seg\u00fan Mercedes Verdeguer, investigadora del IAM, el proyecto surge de la necesidad de dotar a los agricultores de nuevas herramientas. \u201cDurante mucho tiempo, la agricultura ha estado pidiendo nuevas soluciones de control de malezas m\u00e1s respetuosas con el medio ambiente\u201d, dijo. \u201cEn 2009 hubo un cambio en la legislaci\u00f3n europea orientada al uso sostenible de productos fitosanitarios y la promoci\u00f3n de estrategias de manejo integrado de plagas.
