Y esto fue despu\u00e9s de una sequ\u00eda en 2018. Sin duda, el cambio clim\u00e1tico est\u00e1 acelerando el caos del monz\u00f3n de la India; y no es de extra\u00f1ar que activistas indios como Licypriya Kangujam sigan a la sueca Greta Thunberg para poner la bandera roja en la emergencia clim\u00e1tica.<\/p>\n<p>Los monzones excesivos y err\u00e1ticos fueron los m\u00e1s destructivos para el sector agr\u00edcola. Ambos a\u00f1os vieron inundaciones da\u00f1ando los cultivos en pie. El exceso de lluvias durante la etapa de crecimiento de los cultivos, recort\u00f3 su tama\u00f1o en algunos lugares. La variaci\u00f3n de temperatura aument\u00f3 los ataques de plagas, destruyendo la producci\u00f3n. Y la falta de instalaciones de almacenamiento y secado pudri\u00f3 la cosecha perecedera que ten\u00eda un alto contenido de humedad.<\/p>\n<p>Ambos a\u00f1os vieron sufrir a Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Gujarat, etc. y cultivos como soja, cebolla, urad, ca\u00f1a de az\u00facar, papa, algod\u00f3n, arroz, tur y man\u00ed. Si bien la superficie cultivada ha aumentado en India, las lluvias excesivas y err\u00e1ticas arruinaron 32 mil millones de hect\u00e1reas de tierras agr\u00edcolas en 2020, y una superficie a\u00fan mayor en 2019.<\/p>\n<p>Es imperativo incorporar tecnolog\u00edas y procesos innovadores en la India que puedan ayudar a la producci\u00f3n agr\u00edcola, el sustento de los agricultores y la seguridad alimentaria a pesar de las lluvias err\u00e1ticas y excesivas, una tendencia clim\u00e1tica que solo puede repetirse en el futuro.<\/p>\n<p>El D\u00eda Mundial de la Alimentaci\u00f3n 2020 de la FAO hizo hincapi\u00e9 en los cambios basados en la innovaci\u00f3n para la agricultura resiliente al clima, lo que implica que esta es un \u00e1rea de enfoque para las partes interesadas mundiales. Algunas tecnolog\u00edas y procesos innovadores ya est\u00e1n demostrando valor, lo que los coloca bien para ser ampliados y replicados.
