Los hallazgos arrojan luz sobre la complejidad de la ruta de la enfermedad dentro del \u00e1rbol y lo que significa para los cient\u00edficos que buscan mitigar su impacto mortal.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/crec.ifas.ufl.edu\/people\/faculty\/amit-levy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Amit Levy<\/a>, Profesora Asistente de Fitopatolog\u00eda de la UF\/IFAS e investigadora posdoctoral Chiara Bernardini descubri\u00f3 c\u00f3mo la bacteria y el \u00e1rbol de c\u00edtricos se involucran en una relaci\u00f3n reaccionaria de &quot;ida y vuelta&quot;. \u00c9l y otros demostraron que una vez infectados con el <em>Clases<\/em> bacteria, el sistema de defensa del \u00e1rbol comienza a generar callosa en el floema, un material que esencialmente \u201ctapa\u201d el floema y genera algo llamado \u201cespecies reactivas de ox\u00edgeno\u201d o ROS.<\/p>\n<p>En las plantas, ROS est\u00e1 involucrado en los sistemas de defensa de una planta y afecta la tolerancia de una planta a varios tipos de estr\u00e9s.
