La patata es el tercer cultivo alimentario m\u00e1s importante del mundo en t\u00e9rminos de consumo humano, detr\u00e1s del trigo y el arroz, con unos 18 millones de hect\u00e1reas en producci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEsta patente representa otro paso clave en nuestra marcha persistente hacia sistemas de producci\u00f3n de cultivos m\u00e1s sostenibles que aprovechen el poder del biocontrol\u201d, afirm\u00f3 Fran\u00e7ois Lamoureux, director ejecutivo de CXC. \u201cSi bien en los \u00faltimos 15 a\u00f1os han surgido varios biofungicidas importantes, los biocontroles efectivos dirigidos a los pat\u00f3genos bacterianos de las plantas han seguido siendo dif\u00edciles de conseguir.
