Por ejemplo, \u00bfest\u00e1 creciendo activamente? Para determinarlo, se podr\u00eda monitorear una hormona llamada auxina. Las plantas expresan auxina en gradientes, y estos gradientes literalmente les indican en qu\u00e9 direcci\u00f3n crecer. Si podemos aprovechar esto, podemos comprender al instante si una planta est\u00e1 sana y quiere crecer.<\/p>\n<p>La visi\u00f3n final es colocar cultivos vivos en un entorno controlado y luego ajustar los par\u00e1metros: la cantidad, el color y la intensidad de la luz, el agua, el di\u00f3xido de carbono y los nutrientes del suelo. Todas estas son variables que podemos optimizar. La idea es usar sensores para determinar c\u00f3mo ajustar estas entradas en lo que se conoce como un bucle de control.<\/p>\n<p>Este enfoque ofrece numerosas ventajas. No solo permite optimizar el crecimiento, sino que tambi\u00e9n es posible con cualquier tipo de semilla o cultivo. Imagine una finca con un ciclo de cosecha muy r\u00e1pido, que produce m\u00faltiples cosechas al a\u00f1o.<\/p>\n<p>Se podr\u00edan introducir semillas de cualquier parte del mundo (incluso de distintos tipos de cultivos, como fresas o verduras de hoja verde) y el entorno se ajustar\u00eda autom\u00e1ticamente en tiempo real para optimizar el crecimiento y responder a las enfermedades o al estr\u00e9s.<\/p>\n<p>Pero para que ese sue\u00f1o se haga realidad necesitamos algo fundamental: datos lo suficientemente r\u00e1pidos, lo suficientemente r\u00e1pidos para que al menos un agricultor
