Sin embargo, esta din\u00e1mica se encuentra bajo tensi\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLas empresas chinas que siguen ancladas en la demanda de las multinacionales se enfrentan a una rentabilidad decreciente\u201d, afirma Li. \u201cIncluso las empresas que implementan modelos B2B bien gestionados no logran obtener una rentabilidad superior sobre los activos durante la actual crisis del sector\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>El problema, argumenta, es estructural. En ese contexto, se les pide a los proveedores chinos que reduzcan sus m\u00e1rgenes sin recibir a cambio compromisos de volumen a largo plazo, una compensaci\u00f3n insostenible.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA menos que las multinacionales acepten garant\u00edas de adquisici\u00f3n a largo plazo\u201d, explica Li, \u201clos proveedores chinos buscar\u00e1n cada vez m\u00e1s diversificar sus estrategias y buscar oportunidades de mayores m\u00e1rgenes en otros lugares\u201d.<\/p>\n<h2>La carrera por los compuestos post-patente<\/h2>\n<p>Una de estas oportunidades es invertir en nuevas mol\u00e9culas o compuestos cuya patente est\u00e1 pr\u00f3xima a expirar. A medida que caducan las patentes de los activos m\u00e1s populares, los productores chinos se apresuran a aumentar su capacidad de producci\u00f3n con la esperanza de hacerse con una cuota de mercado global.<\/p>\n<p>Pero esto tambi\u00e9n presenta riesgos.<\/p>\n<p>Tomemos el caso de los fungicidas SDHI como el saflufenacil y la piroxasulfona, dos principios activos cuya patente est\u00e1 a punto de expirar y que la industria vigila de cerca. Seg\u00fan datos de Kynetec, la demanda mundial de estos compuestos sigue siendo relativamente limitada. Sin embargo, la capacidad de producci\u00f3n de los productores chinos (producci\u00f3n planificada o propuesta) ya ha superado con creces la demanda real en el campo.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEs una trampa cl\u00e1sica de sobrecapacidad\u201d, afirma Li. \u201cTodos ven la misma oportunidad, pero no todos comprenden el largo plazo que requiere convertir la capacidad en ingresos sostenidos\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Ese &quot;juego a largo plazo&quot; abarca m\u00e1s que la mera fabricaci\u00f3n t\u00e9cnica. Para competir a nivel mundial, las empresas chinas tambi\u00e9n deben gestionar estudios toxicol\u00f3gicos, datos de metabolitos, revisiones regulatorias y procesos de registro en mercados clave.<\/p>\n<h2>Construyendo activos de productos, no solo productos<\/h2>\n<p>Li sostiene que el cambio hacia nuevas mol\u00e9culas no se trata solo de vender principios activos, sino de crear activos de productos que aporten valor a lo largo de todo su ciclo de vida.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEn mercados maduros como el de la protecci\u00f3n de cultivos, la gesti\u00f3n del ciclo de vida del producto lo es todo\u201d, afirma. \u201cLas nuevas mol\u00e9culas deben posicionarse estrat\u00e9gicamente, no solo fabricarse a bajo costo\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>La capacidad de retrasar la transici\u00f3n de un producto a su fase de cola larga, o de implementar estrategias defensivas de formulaci\u00f3n y fijaci\u00f3n de precios, es lo que diferencia a los activos de productos de alto valor de los simples productos b\u00e1sicos.<\/p>\n<p>Pero es aqu\u00ed donde los proveedores chinos a menudo fallan.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDemasiadas empresas se detienen en la producci\u00f3n\u201d, afirma Li. \u201cNo invierten en formulaciones diferenciadas, datos de registro global ni apoyo agron\u00f3mico local.
