UU. (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.fas.usda.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">USDA-FAS<\/a>), por un total de 4,3 millones de sacos de 60 kilogramos. Se espera que las pr\u00e1cticas de producci\u00f3n mejoradas y los precios internacionales s\u00f3lidos impulsen el aumento. Es muy probable que estos factores contin\u00faen en los pr\u00f3ximos a\u00f1os.<\/p>\n<p class=\"subhead\">Estructura industrial<\/p>\n<p>El caf\u00e9 en Per\u00fa se cultiva principalmente en operaciones de muy peque\u00f1os productores; un productor promedio tiene de 2 a 3 hect\u00e1reas (Ha) en producci\u00f3n, y la mayor\u00eda est\u00e1n agrupados en asociaciones o cooperativas que les permiten negociar precios y mejorar el manejo poscosecha. Las asociaciones m\u00e1s grandes tienen hasta 2,000 miembros y m\u00e1s de 7,000 Ha bajo manejo, y las m\u00e1s sofisticadas tienen sucursales financieras que brindan fondos a los productores para aumentar o mejorar su cultivo.<\/p>\n<p>Los rendimientos promedio rondan los 750 kilogramos por Ha, pero alcanzan los 2.300 kilogramos por Ha entre los productores m\u00e1s eficientes. Los bajos rendimientos se deben t\u00edpicamente a malas pr\u00e1cticas de cultivo. Debido a los costos involucrados, el reemplazo de plantas y la fertilizaci\u00f3n son raros entre los productores de caf\u00e9. El costo promedio de producci\u00f3n es de aproximadamente US $62 por Ha, de los cuales aproximadamente 80% son mano de obra.<\/p>\n<p>El caf\u00e9 se cultiva en las laderas orientales de los Andes, pero se concentra en tres \u00e1reas principales de cultivo. El \u00e1rea m\u00e1s importante en t\u00e9rminos de volumen y calidad son las laderas centro-orientales de los Andes en Chanchamayo con 30% de la producci\u00f3n de Per\u00fa.
