The 65,000-square-foot Orangeburg County facility is expected to come online in the third quarter of 2019. Construction is expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2018.

“Thanks to the Orangeburg production plant, Valagro will be able to respond even more effectively to the needs of the American market; it is already covered by Valagro Group thanks to its subsidiary Valagro USA, which has been operating since 2000,” the company said in a statement.

The construction of the new production facility follows the opening of another strategic production site inaugurated in April 2017 in Sao Paolo, Brazil.

Giuseppe Natale, CEO of Valagro: “The construction of the US production plant largely supports our efforts to better serve some of the most important strategic markets such as USA, Canada, and Mexico. This means completely implementing the principle of customer centrality pursued by Valagro: the plant will allow us to improve our ability to meet customer needs by providing them with a wide range of sustainable and effective nutritional solutions. Furthermore, the new American plant is a fundamental part of Valagro’s global production strategy and, more broadly, is further evidence of the company’s continued and solid global growth. This is in line with our long-term strategy driven by the desire to affirm the key role of Valagro in the global agricultural market.”

Founded in 1980 and headquartered in the Abruzzo region of Italy, Valagro is a global leader in the world of biostimulants. The company specializes in the production and marketing of specialty nutrients for use in agricultural production and other industrial applications. Valagro operates through its 12 subsidiaries and owns a commercial network covering more than 80 countries worldwide.
