Monsanto anuncia lançamento de produtos de milho misturado

After a limited introduction in the 2011 season, Monsanto will fully launch its Genuity Smartstax RIB Complete blended corn product to the US market.

“We have been working closely with farmers who experienced unexpected corn rootworm damage last season,” Matt Kirkpatrick, Monsanto Corn Traits marketing manager, said in a statement. “Genuity SmartStax RIB Complete corn provides two modes of action for corn rootworm control and is a great fit for fields with high rootworm pressure.”

With multiple modes of above- and below-ground insect control, Genuity SmartStax RIB Complete corn is offered this season in Monsanto’s US national and regional seed brands, and by more than 100 independent seed companies. These products contain a blend of 95% Bt corn and 5% refuge seed.

In areas experiencing low or moderate rootworm pressure, Monsanto offers Genuity VT Triple PRO corn, which contains a single mode of action for corn rootworm control and dual modes of action for protection against above ground insects, including corn earworm. Growers who plant this technology can select refuge products to implement an insect resistance management plan, Monsanto says.
