6th Grain Corporation recruta CEO e localiza entidade primária em Cingapura
As part of the strategy to accelerate 6th Grain’s unique technology in digital agriculture in Africa and Asia, John Barnes has been recruited to be Chief Executive Officer and lead the company into the next phase of growth.
“With extensive global marketing experience combined with in-country Asian and African operational experience in global, category leading life science companies, John Barnes is our ideal candidate.” says Dr. Vladimir Eskin, Chairman and Founder of 6th Grain. “We have a wealth of technology and skills in the company and John will bring deep, practical agronomic insights to our business to position our technology better.”
6th Grain has contracts with blue chip, high value input providers as well as banks, insurance and agribusiness companies to provide farmer insights through a combination of on-ground data collection, farm digitization and monitoring via remote sensing.
“6th Grain is a technology- and partnership-centric company that brings together stakeholders who have a common interest in equipping smallholder farmers with technologies to feed our next generation sustainably,” Barnes said. “We need to enable producers, from small holder to large scale professional farmers, with the best technology to grow our food. I am very excited and proud to help farmers have access to the inputs and technology that will improve their productivity.”
To expand 6th Grain’s ability to offer software and service solutions throughout the agricultural value chain, the leadership team is relocating the primary company in Singapore. 6th Grain Global Private Company Singapore is now fully operational.
“We are confident that we can, when required, attract sufficient investment funding to fuel our fast growth aspirations from Singapore” said Jackie Goh, Director of Asia for 6th Grain. “Singapore is known for its ease of doing business and diversity of high technology companies.”
