KBR obtém contrato de fertilizantes no Egito
US energy firm KBR (formerly part of Halliburton until 2007) has been awarded a contract by Egypt Hydrocarbon Corp. in Cairo to front-engineer an ammonium nitrate (AN) plant near Suez, Egypt. The complete front-engineering design (FEED) award was given following KBR’s completion of prefeasibility and pre-FEED studies for the proposed petrochemical manufacturing complex near Suez.
The AN plant will be designed to produce 1,060 metric tons per day of AN, and will include a nitric acid production facillity. Technology for both units, in addition to offsites and utilities, will be provided by Madrid, Spain-based Espindesa, a subsidiary of Tecnicas Reunidas.
