Indofil Chemicals Co., established in 1962, is engaged in the manufacture, marketing, distribution, and research and development of agrochemicals, and currently boasts an annual turnover of US $72 million.
The company has carefully crafted a vision in implementing growth strategies and looks forward to a turnover of US $200 million in the next four years.
The focus of the company is expansion in the world pesticide market with mancozeb as well as other off-patent pesticides under development with in-house technology. The objective is to develop a distribution channel in various countries across the globe with the help of a wide spectrum of products.
Developing Technology
Indofil has a very strong domestic base with good distribution reach and field coverage. The company looks forward to alliances with companies having proprietary products with interest to develop and establish these in the Indian market, which Indofil sees as a good growth opportunity.
Indofil already is present in more than 50 countries as a supplier of mancozeb formulations. It is one of the authorized sources of mancozeb in the EU, as it signed a data compensation agreement with the EU Development Consortium in order to access protected data in the EU countries. The company is presently in the process of developing Annex 3 dossiers — as per European registration guidelines — for both its Mancozeb WP and Mancozeb WG formulations.
Indofil also has developed technology for certain fungicides which have potential as mixture partners with mancozeb. The company is evaluating the feasibility of developing the complete data packages alone or with partners. It has six to seven products in the pipeline at various stages of R&D for synthesis and process development.
