Philom Bios Expands Business

Brett Young Seeds and Philom Bios Inc. announced the signing of an agreement that will accelerate the continued development and commercialization of Brett Young’s patented plant growth promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) technology and other platforms.

Under the agreement, Philom Bios will hold an exclusive worldwide license to develop, produce, market, and sell all technologies covered within the scope of the agreement. This includes follow-on formulations of BioBoost and SoySuperb in major agricultural crops including canola, alfalfa, maize, and soybeans.

These technologies are the first registered PGPR’s for use in North American canola and soybean production.

Philom Bios also announced the forming of a joint venture with the Grains Research Development Corp. (GRDC) of Australia. To be called Philom Bios (Australia) Pty. Ltd., the joint venture will be a sales, marketing, and technology development operation to supply the Australian ag market with high-value inoculants. GRDC and Philom Bios will each hold a 50% share in the new company.
