A queda de 381 lakh hectares na \u00e1rea semeada deve-se principalmente a um per\u00edodo prolongado de seca durante a esta\u00e7\u00e3o das mon\u00e7\u00f5es. As \u00e1reas plantadas diminu\u00edram drasticamente em Maharashtra (de 26,20 para 10,51 lh), Andhra Pradesh (de 8,68 para 5,92 lh), Gujarat (de 12,50 para 8,59 lh) e Karnataka (de 1,57 para 1,46 lh).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNormalmente, em Vidarbha, o plantio termina por volta de 20 de julho.
