A instala\u00e7\u00e3o de 5 toneladas por dia produzir\u00e1 produtos qu\u00edmicos especiais de alto valor e biocombust\u00edveis a partir de materiais celul\u00f3sicos.<\/p>\n<p>A planta ficar\u00e1 localizada nas instala\u00e7\u00f5es da Buckeye em Perry, Fl\u00f3rida, e ser\u00e1 constru\u00edda com o aux\u00edlio de $20 milh\u00f5es previamente alocados pela Assembleia Legislativa da Fl\u00f3rida. O projeto utilizar\u00e1 tecnologias desenvolvidas pela UF para produzir bioqu\u00edmicos com amplas aplica\u00e7\u00f5es de mercado, licenciados exclusivamente para a Myriant, bem como biocombust\u00edveis. Cientistas da UF operar\u00e3o a plataforma de pesquisa de etanol, enquanto a Myriant operar\u00e1 o componente de produtos qu\u00edmicos especiais do projeto. O programa de pesquisa da UF foi o primeiro a obter sucesso no processamento de a\u00e7\u00facares celul\u00f3sicos e na convers\u00e3o metab\u00f3lica desses a\u00e7\u00facares em combust\u00edveis e produtos qu\u00edmicos. A Buckeye Technologies est\u00e1 na vanguarda da ind\u00fastria papeleira na maximiza\u00e7\u00e3o do uso e do valor de mat\u00e9rias-primas celul\u00f3sicas.<\/p>\n<p>O projeto ser\u00e1 capaz de produzir mais de 140.000 gal\u00f5es de biocombust\u00edveis ou 1.000 toneladas de produtos qu\u00edmicos de origem biol\u00f3gica anualmente a partir de uma variedade de mat\u00e9rias-primas, incluindo madeira, baga\u00e7o de cana-de-a\u00e7\u00facar e sorgo sacarino.
