O Grupo de Pol\u00edtica de Agroqu\u00edmicos<\/a> (APG), um \u00f3rg\u00e3o de 200 empresas de prote\u00e7\u00e3o de cultivos, diz que a \u00cdndia ainda \u00e9 v\u00edtima de baixos rendimentos devido ao subuso de produtos de prote\u00e7\u00e3o de cultivos pelos agricultores. A hist\u00f3ria, publicada originalmente no Linha de neg\u00f3cios hindu<\/a>, observa que o uso m\u00e9dio de pesticidas na \u00cdndia \u00e9 de aproximadamente 480 gramas por hectare (Ha), o que \u00e9 muito menor do que nos EUA, UE, Jap\u00e3o e Taiwan. APG disse que apenas 25% dos campos da \u00cdndia s\u00e3o adequadamente protegidos contra pragas.<\/p>\n

Com o Banco Mundial<\/a> afirmando que os pre\u00e7os dos alimentos dobraram nos \u00faltimos tr\u00eas anos e amea\u00e7am empurrar 100 milh\u00f5es de pessoas em pa\u00edses de baixa renda ainda mais para a pobreza, a APG disse que agora \u00e9 o momento de melhorar os rendimentos.<\/p>\n

S. Kumarasamy, presidente da APG, disse que a perda de safra na \u00cdndia foi causada por apenas um quarto da \u00e1rea total cultivada de 180 milh\u00f5es de hectares sendo tratada com produtos qu\u00edmicos de prote\u00e7\u00e3o de safra. Ele acrescentou que h\u00e1 uma necessidade urgente de melhorar a produ\u00e7\u00e3o agr\u00edcola e que os fazendeiros podem ter certeza de um retorno cinco vezes maior sobre o dinheiro gasto em pesticidas.<\/p>\n

No entanto, o Dr. KSRK Murthy, Presidente da Associa\u00e7\u00e3o de Prote\u00e7\u00e3o Vegetal da \u00cdndia<\/a>, disse que o uso de pesticidas pode ser defendido somente quando as pr\u00e1ticas agr\u00edcolas adequadas forem seguidas.
