Com uma temporada normal de mon\u00e7\u00f5es neste ver\u00e3o, a produ\u00e7\u00e3o de arroz de Bangladesh provavelmente exceder\u00e1 28 milh\u00f5es de toneladas de mais de 11 milh\u00f5es de hectares plantados (Ha), de acordo com o Servi\u00e7o de Agricultura Estrangeira do Departamento de Agricultura dos EUA (USDA-FAS). Espera-se que os altos pre\u00e7os do arroz sustentem o aumento das planta\u00e7\u00f5es.<\/p>\n

As primeiras previs\u00f5es j\u00e1 apontavam para um aumento de 7% em 2005\/06 em rela\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e0 safra danificada pela enchente de 2005\/06, e a melhoria cont\u00ednua provavelmente desencadear\u00e1 outro aumento se as condi\u00e7\u00f5es clim\u00e1ticas se mantiverem. Gra\u00e7as aos pre\u00e7os altos, mais terra foi dedicada ao cultivo de arroz, e os agricultores investiram em variedades e h\u00edbridos de maior rendimento. No entanto, a escassez de nutrientes, \u00f3leo diesel e eletricidade pode criar um teto para a safra que, de outra forma, seria muito promissora.<\/p>\n
