A demanda global por a\u00e7\u00facar deve superar a produ\u00e7\u00e3o pela primeira vez desde 2006, ano em que os pre\u00e7os atingiram o pico de 24 anos, relata Bloomberg.com<\/a>Mesmo com estoques maiores do que em 2006, deve haver um d\u00e9ficit, j\u00e1 que o maior produtor mundial, o Brasil, usar\u00e1 cerca de 571 TP3T de sua cana-de-a\u00e7\u00facar para etanol, e o segundo maior produtor, a \u00cdndia, deve reduzir o fornecimento de a\u00e7\u00facar em 161 TP3T em 2009, para 23,9 milh\u00f5es de toneladas, concentrando seus esfor\u00e7os em culturas mais rent\u00e1veis, como o trigo. Enquanto isso, as regras comerciais que pro\u00edbem os produtores de exportar excedentes reduzir\u00e3o o processamento europeu em 151 TP3T, para 22,5 milh\u00f5es de toneladas.<\/p>\n

O consumo global deve aumentar 2,31 TP3T, para 165,5 milh\u00f5es de toneladas m\u00e9tricas no pr\u00f3ximo ano; com uma queda na produ\u00e7\u00e3o de 4,41 TP3T, para 161,6 milh\u00f5es de toneladas, a ISO prev\u00ea um d\u00e9ficit de 3,9 milh\u00f5es de toneladas.
