A colabora\u00e7\u00e3o concentra-se em quatro culturas principais: milho, soja, algod\u00e3o e canola. As duas empresas j\u00e1 ampliaram seu pool gen\u00e9tico combinado, compartilhando centenas de genes, com uma sobreposi\u00e7\u00e3o de menos de 10%. O pipeline de desenvolvimento conjunto das empresas acelerar\u00e1 o caminho dos produtos at\u00e9 o mercado.<\/p>\n<p>O foco das empresas est\u00e1 na toler\u00e2ncia \u00e0 seca, desenvolvendo plantas que utilizem o nitrog\u00eanio de forma mais eficiente e plantas com maior capacidade de produzir maior produtividade em condi\u00e7\u00f5es normais. O projeto mais avan\u00e7ado, o milho tolerante \u00e0 seca, foi promovido \u00e0 Fase de Desenvolvimento III em janeiro, onde ser\u00e3o coletados dados para o processo regulat\u00f3rio. Para os quatro projetos mais desenvolvidos, as empresas preveem os seguintes valores de mercado nos EUA em 2020:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Maior rendimento em milho (\u00e1rea ampla): mais de US$ $1 bilh\u00e3o <\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Maior rendimento em soja (\u00e1rea ampla): US $300-500 milh\u00f5es <\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Melhor utiliza\u00e7\u00e3o de nitrog\u00eanio no milho: US $300-500 milh\u00f5es <\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Fam\u00edlia de milho tolerante \u00e0 seca: EUA $300-500 milh\u00f5es<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>At\u00e9 o momento, todos os quatro projetos demonstraram melhorias significativas de produtividade em rela\u00e7\u00e3o aos grupos de controle em testes de campo.
