A coluna da semana passada, questionando a situa\u00e7\u00e3o do glifosato no mundo, atraiu dezenas de respostas, j\u00e1 que, em todo o mundo, o pre\u00e7o do herbicida saltou de algo entre 200% e 600% no intervalo de um ou dois anos. Em um de nossos itens abaixo, vemos outro exemplo de como o glifosato n\u00e3o est\u00e1 sozinho nesse aspecto. O glifosato \u00e9 substitu\u00eddo na Tun\u00edsia em algumas \u00e1reas pelo trabalho manual, devido ao menor custo."<\/p>\n

Embora em muitas \u00e1reas isso ainda n\u00e3o seja o caso, h\u00e1 a (surpreendente) possibilidade de que \u2014 dependendo do tamanho dos agricultores, do pre\u00e7o do glifosato e do pre\u00e7o da m\u00e3o de obra \u2014 possamos estar caminhando em dire\u00e7\u00e3o a um ponto em que a pr\u00f3xima mol\u00e9cula de sucesso ser\u00e1 aquela que faz parte de uma m\u00e3o humana.<\/p>\n

Sim, isso parece absurdo. Mas qu\u00e3o distante? Quanto os pre\u00e7os precisam subir em v\u00e1rios mercados antes que alternativas sejam buscadas? Isso pode n\u00e3o ser necessariamente um cara com luvas de jardinagem e mata-moscas, mas pode incluir outros produtos herbicidas ou outras op\u00e7\u00f5es, como biocontroles.<\/p>\n

Com o tempo, os pre\u00e7os do glifosato devem cair. Mas, enquanto isso, ainda h\u00e1 ervas daninhas para lidar. E, neste momento, h\u00e1 muita depend\u00eancia do produto n\u00famero 1 do mundo.
