LOUIS, Missouri, EUA \u2014 O Jornal de Wall Street <\/a>relata que Monsanto Co.<\/a> reduzir\u00e1 os pre\u00e7os de algumas sementes geneticamente modificadas (GM) ap\u00f3s um segundo trimestre decepcionante. A Monsanto reportou lucros de $887 milh\u00f5es no segundo trimestre \u2014 queda de 10% em rela\u00e7\u00e3o aos lucros de $1,09 bilh\u00e3o durante o mesmo trimestre do ano passado. Agricultores americanos tendem a comprar sementes de primavera durante o segundo trimestre, mas menos agricultores este ano compraram Roundup Ready 2 Yield \u2014 a soja tolerante a herbicidas da Monsanto \u2014 e SmartStax, o milho resistente a pragas empilhado de oito caracter\u00edsticas da empresa.
