A capacidade chinesa, em particular, tem sido acompanhada de perto, \u00e0 medida que empresas estabelecidas continuam a abrir novas instala\u00e7\u00f5es.<\/p>\n<p>O consumo de glifosato aumentou nos \u00faltimos anos, estimulado pelo amplo plantio de culturas resistentes ao Roundup e pela promo\u00e7\u00e3o da agricultura sem lavoura. De 2004 a 2008, a taxa m\u00e9dia de crescimento do glifosato global atingiu 27%, muito maior do que a taxa de crescimento econ\u00f4mico global, e o volume total de consumo atingiu cerca de 600.000 toneladas.<\/p>\n<p>Al\u00e9m das empresas na China, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.monsanto.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Monsanto<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nortox.com.br\/\" target=\"_blank\">Nortox SA<\/a> e <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cheminova.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Cheminova<\/a> tamb\u00e9m pode produzir glifosato t\u00e9cnico da DEA. E algumas empresas compraram PMIDA da China para produzir glifosato t\u00e9cnico, como a Argentina <a href=\"http:\/\/www.atanor.com.ar\" target=\"_blank\">Atanor<\/a>, da \u00cdndia <a href=\"http:\/\/www.excelind.co.in\" target=\"_blank\">Excel<\/a> e <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sabero.com\" target=\"_blank\">Sabero<\/a>, e da Indon\u00e9sia <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dalzon.co.id\" target=\"_blank\">Pt. Dalzon<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"subhead\">Fabrica\u00e7\u00e3o na China<\/p>\n<p>A China estava bem situada para capitalizar os pre\u00e7os exorbitantes com suas amplas instala\u00e7\u00f5es da ind\u00fastria qu\u00edmica, f\u00f3sforo amarelo abundante, baixo custo de m\u00e3o de obra e conhecimento t\u00e9cnico. A China logo se tornou a maior produtora de glifosato do mundo. A capacidade chinesa de glifosato aumentou de 323.400 toneladas em 2007 para 835.900 toneladas em 2010, uma taxa de crescimento anual composta (CAGR) de 37%. A China tem capacidade de glifosato suficiente para satisfazer a demanda global se todos os outros fabricantes de glifosato pararem a produ\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/p>\n<p>A r\u00e1pida expans\u00e3o da capacidade leva a menores taxas de opera\u00e7\u00e3o, que ca\u00edram de 60% em 2007 para cerca de 40% hoje. Muitas empresas, mesmo sem tecnologia madura ou mat\u00e9rias-primas auxiliares, tamb\u00e9m inundaram a produ\u00e7\u00e3o de glifosato em 2007\/08 para capitalizar margens favor\u00e1veis. Essas empresas pararam por causa do mercado lento de glifosato nos \u00faltimos dois anos e meio. Empresas com altas taxas de opera\u00e7\u00e3o s\u00e3o raras.<\/p>\n<p>Embora a rota DEA seja a principal via para produzir a subst\u00e2ncia ativa nos mercados internacionais, a rota da glicina ainda \u00e9 a preferida na China; cerca de 80% da capacidade na China \u00e9 configurada para a rota da glicina, e isso provavelmente persistir\u00e1 por algum tempo.<\/p>\n<p class=\"subhead\">Fatores que influenciam o desenvolvimento do glifosato<\/p>\n<p>O glifosato tem sido impulsionado ultimamente pelo aumento da \u00e1rea de plantio de culturas resistentes ao glifosato, tecnologia de plantio direto e o aumento da remo\u00e7\u00e3o qu\u00edmica de ervas daninhas. Recentemente, alguns fatores adicionais t\u00eam influenciado o consumo, incluindo o surgimento de ervas daninhas resistentes ao glifosato e o plantio de outras culturas resistentes a herbicidas.<\/p>\n<p>Primeiro, a \u00e1rea de plantio de culturas resistentes ao glifosato aumentou em aproximadamente 75,1 milh\u00f5es de hectares, com CAGR de 12,1% de 2000 a 2009. Nos pr\u00f3ximos anos, a taxa de crescimento da \u00e1rea de plantio de culturas resistentes ao glifosato persistir\u00e1 em 5% a 10%, fornecendo suporte suficiente para o desenvolvimento do glifosato.<\/p>\n<p>Segundo, os sistemas de plantio direto ou plantio m\u00ednimo t\u00eam se expandido e evolu\u00eddo rapidamente desde a d\u00e9cada de 1970. Essa tend\u00eancia continuar\u00e1 a impulsionar o consumo de glifosato. Em 2008, a \u00e1rea global de plantio direto atingiu 105 milh\u00f5es de hectares, com CAGR de 2,4% de 2002 a 2008.<\/p>\n<p>Terceiro, muitos pa\u00edses est\u00e3o desenvolvendo ativamente a bioenergia, o que impulsiona diretamente o desenvolvimento do glifosato. A bioenergia tem sido usada h\u00e1 anos, mas seu desenvolvimento \u00e9 restrito pelo pre\u00e7o da energia tradicional, como petr\u00f3leo bruto e carv\u00e3o. Entrando no s\u00e9culo XXI, o pre\u00e7o do petr\u00f3leo bruto continua subindo, o que estimula o desenvolvimento da bioenergia. A produ\u00e7\u00e3o global de bioenergia foi de cerca de 80 bilh\u00f5es de litros em 2008, com os principais produtores incluindo os EUA, Brasil, UE e Canad\u00e1, que constituem mais de 90 por cento da produ\u00e7\u00e3o mundial. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fao.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">FAO<\/a> estima que a produ\u00e7\u00e3o global de bioenergia atingir\u00e1 120 bilh\u00f5es de litros em 2015, um aumento de cinco vezes em compara\u00e7\u00e3o a 2008, com CAGR de 5,96%.<\/p>\n<p>Apesar de enfrentar uma crise financeira global no final de 2008, o desenvolvimento da bioenergia continua a florescer. No Brasil, o pa\u00eds com o menor custo de produ\u00e7\u00e3o de bioetanol do mundo, ele \u00e9 considerado competitivo quando o petr\u00f3leo bruto est\u00e1 t\u00e3o baixo quanto $35 por barril. Devido \u00e0s baixas margens de lucro resultantes da crise financeira, muitos fabricantes de petr\u00f3leo bruto reduziram ou at\u00e9 mesmo pararam a produ\u00e7\u00e3o de glifosato. Apenas as principais empresas petroqu\u00edmicas, como <a href=\"http:\/\/www.shell.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Concha<\/a> continuar a estabelecer novos projetos de bioenergia, pois t\u00eam grandes esperan\u00e7as no futuro da bioenergia.<\/p>\n<p>O desenvolvimento da bioenergia significa grande consumo de gr\u00e3os, j\u00e1 que as principais mat\u00e9rias-primas para a bioenergia s\u00e3o principalmente as culturas, o que indica que a \u00e1rea de plantio dessas culturas se expandir\u00e1 proporcionalmente e, assim, aumentar\u00e1 o consumo de glifosato.<\/p>\n<p>Apesar das mudan\u00e7as no mercado de glifosato, a perspectiva para os pr\u00f3ximos anos continua muito positiva. Acredita-se que os pre\u00e7os atingiram o fundo do po\u00e7o, e a capacidade gerada por empresas de baixa tecnologia diminuiu sem os lucros desfrutados em 2007\/08. Embora existam algumas barreiras, o glifosato continuar\u00e1 a crescer porque n\u00e3o h\u00e1 um bom substituto para o ativo. E embora os protocolos de resist\u00eancia defendam o uso criterioso do glifosato sob recomenda\u00e7\u00f5es de r\u00f3tulo, ele ainda \u00e9 um grampo para estrat\u00e9gias de manejo de ervas daninhas. No entanto, a taxa de crescimento n\u00e3o ser\u00e1 t\u00e3o alta quanto antes.
