Os acordos entre a Bayer CropScience e os produtores de arroz de gr\u00e3os longos dos EUA em conex\u00e3o com o lit\u00edgio do arroz biotecnol\u00f3gico entraram em vigor.<\/p>\n

Ap\u00f3s a detec\u00e7\u00e3o em 2006 de tra\u00e7os de arroz biotecnol\u00f3gico em arroz de gr\u00e3os longos colhido em v\u00e1rios estados do sul dos EUA, a Europa imp\u00f4s restri\u00e7\u00f5es \u00e0s importa\u00e7\u00f5es de arroz de gr\u00e3os longos dos EUA, embora o arroz n\u00e3o apresentasse problemas de seguran\u00e7a alimentar. A cepa foi rastreada at\u00e9 a Bayer CropScience, fazendo com que os produtores registrassem reclama\u00e7\u00f5es contra a empresa, citando valores de exporta\u00e7\u00e3o perdidos devido a restri\u00e7\u00f5es de registro de biotecnologia.<\/p>\n

Um n\u00famero suficiente de registros agora verificados para o programa de assentamento foi registrado pelos produtores para representar 85% de \u00e1rea de arroz de gr\u00e3os longos dos EUA, um ponto limite estabelecido para que os acordos se tornem vinculativos.<\/p>\n

Conforme acordado nos acordos, a Bayer CropScience pagar\u00e1 at\u00e9 $750 milh\u00f5es para resolver amigavelmente as reivindica\u00e7\u00f5es apresentadas pelos produtores.
