Em um segundo projeto, os cientistas analisar\u00e3o computacionalmente os genes envolvidos na resposta das plantas a situa\u00e7\u00f5es de alto estresse, como a seca. Ambos os projetos de pesquisa s\u00e3o apoiados financeiramente pelo IWT \u2013 a ag\u00eancia nacional para a promo\u00e7\u00e3o da inova\u00e7\u00e3o pela ci\u00eancia e tecnologia em Flandres, B\u00e9lgica, de acordo com a declara\u00e7\u00e3o. Os resultados do estudo ser\u00e3o publicados em importantes peri\u00f3dicos cient\u00edficos.<\/p>\n<p>Epigen\u00e9tica \u00e9 um fen\u00f4meno natural que \u00e9 usado por plantas e animais para regular como o material heredit\u00e1rio \u00e9 lido e usado, por exemplo, como uma resposta \u00e0 seca. Dependendo de fatores externos, como longos per\u00edodos de seca, os genes que causam a resposta da planta s\u00e3o ativados em maior ou menor extens\u00e3o a partir do DNA, de acordo com Bayer. Este projeto se concentrar\u00e1 na biologia de sistemas, a ci\u00eancia que estuda sistemas biol\u00f3gicos como as intera\u00e7\u00f5es entre muitos componentes, como genes, prote\u00ednas e metab\u00f3litos, de acordo com a empresa.
