\"Insect-resistant<\/p>\n

Um novo relat\u00f3rio da Associa\u00e7\u00e3o Brasileira de Sementes e Mudas do Brasil <\/strong>(ABRASEM), a associa\u00e7\u00e3o brasileira de sementes, descobriu que o produtor m\u00e9dio do pa\u00eds de uma safra de milho resistente a insetos de 50 hectares j\u00e1 ganhou um retorno adicional de at\u00e9 $100.400 desde que a tecnologia foi comercializada no pa\u00eds. Nos pr\u00f3ximos 10 anos, ela projeta que o mesmo produtor ver\u00e1 os lucros aumentarem em $324.100 devido \u00e0 produtividade aprimorada.<\/p>\n

Com a perspectiva de aprova\u00e7\u00e3o de novas tecnologias, maior ado\u00e7\u00e3o pelos produtores e aprimoramentos da tecnologia existente, o benef\u00edcio econ\u00f4mico total da ado\u00e7\u00e3o de transg\u00eanicos nos pr\u00f3ximos 10 anos deve chegar a $118,2 bilh\u00f5es, com 82% desse montante indo para o produtor.<\/p>\n

\u201cO caso do milho \u00e9 o exemplo mais marcante do salto em lucratividade e impacto ambiental que a biotecnologia pode oferecer aos produtores. E os impactos dessa ado\u00e7\u00e3o s\u00e3o ainda mais percept\u00edveis para pequenos e m\u00e9dios produtores, cuja competitividade est\u00e1 melhorando\u201d, disse o presidente da ABRASEM e produtor rural brasileiro Narciso Barison Neto.<\/p>\n

O estudo tamb\u00e9m analisa os benef\u00edcios da biotecnologia para o meio ambiente e a sustentabilidade do agroneg\u00f3cio brasileiro nos \u00faltimos 16 anos, desde que a semente geneticamente modificada foi comercializada no pa\u00eds. Tamb\u00e9m leva em considera\u00e7\u00e3o fatores como uso de \u00e1gua, consumo de diesel, emiss\u00f5es de carbono e uso de pesticidas. <\/p>\n

O benef\u00edcio projetado para o uso da \u00e1gua de 2012\/13 a 2021\/22 \u00e9 de 167,4 bilh\u00f5es de litros de economia de \u00e1gua devido \u00e0 ado\u00e7\u00e3o de culturas biotecnol\u00f3gicas.<\/p>\n

Realizado pela Celeres e Celeres Ambiental, o estudo \u00e9 realizado anualmente para a ABRASEM desde 2008.
