Uma ind\u00fastria de $60 bilh\u00f5es que abrange sementes, nutrientes e prote\u00e7\u00e3o de culturas, \u00e9 preciso se perguntar quais insumos agr\u00edcolas esse mercado estar\u00e1 demandando no futuro. A FCI sentou-se com o consultor de culturas certificado Francisco Rivera-Guerrero da JR Simplot, uma das maiores empresas privadas de alimentos e agroneg\u00f3cios do pa\u00eds, que identificou cinco tend\u00eancias que ele est\u00e1 vivenciando.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1) Misturando tudo<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Rivera-Guerrero cita a mistura de produtos qu\u00edmicos pelos produtores, especialmente fungicidas, como a maior tend\u00eancia na ind\u00fastria de culturas especiais devido aos crescentes problemas de resist\u00eancia nas culturas. \u201cNovas variedades de culturas parecem ser muito mais suscet\u00edveis ao o\u00eddio, m\u00edldio e outros fungos vegetais\u201d, ele explica, o que se traduz em mais pulveriza\u00e7\u00e3o e mais potencial para resist\u00eancia.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCulturas como uvas de mesa e morangos, que s\u00e3o culturas de alto valor, s\u00e3o cultivadas de forma muito intensiva, o que significa que exigem pulveriza\u00e7\u00f5es semanais para proteg\u00ea-las de pragas, o que pode aumentar rapidamente o risco de resist\u00eancia e limitar as op\u00e7\u00f5es que os produtores t\u00eam para combater doen\u00e7as em geral.\u201d Portanto, as empresas qu\u00edmicas devem esperar uma demanda popular cont\u00ednua por pr\u00e9-misturas e produtos qu\u00edmicos com ativos combinados para atender a essa necessidade crescente.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2) Qu\u00edmicas extremamente limpas<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Os produtores est\u00e3o se tornando mais conscientes social e ambientalmente e sentem a necessidade de serem respons\u00e1veis pelas aplica\u00e7\u00f5es que fazem na fazenda e como elas impactam a sociedade como um todo, diz Rivera-Guerrero.<\/p>\n<p>Um reflexo disso na ind\u00fastria qu\u00edmica \u00e9 o fato de que muitas formula\u00e7\u00f5es anteriormente baseadas em petr\u00f3leo, como concentrados emulsion\u00e1veis (EC), foram usadas por anos para formar uma suspens\u00e3o do ingrediente ativo e permitir uma aplica\u00e7\u00e3o uniforme com taxas de dilui\u00e7\u00e3o vari\u00e1veis. Ele explica que houve um forte afastamento dos ECs em favor de concentrados de suspens\u00e3o e fluidos, que ele diz fornecer uma boa maneira de suspender o material no tanque sem causar fitotoxicidade na cultura.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3) Com o velho<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Empresas qu\u00edmicas que desenvolvem novos produtos fazem investimentos de mais de $300 milh\u00f5es por ingrediente ativo. GoalTender e Lorsban Advanced da Dow AgroSciences s\u00e3o exemplos perfeitos disso.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>4) Conscientiza\u00e7\u00e3o Internacional<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Apesar da imagem que o consumidor m\u00e9dio tem dos produtores como sendo de cidade pequena, tipos da velha escola, Rivera-Guerrero diz que uma maior conscientiza\u00e7\u00e3o internacional est\u00e1 se espalhando por toda a ind\u00fastria. \u201cOs produtores est\u00e3o competindo em um n\u00edvel global\u201d, ele diz, \u201cespecialmente quando seus produtos s\u00e3o exportados para esses mercados estrangeiros\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>O produtor m\u00e9dio dos EUA agora precisa estar ciente, ele diz, que quando os tomates frescos do mercado est\u00e3o prontos na Fl\u00f3rida, eles est\u00e3o competindo diretamente com os tomates do M\u00e9xico que est\u00e3o sendo importados nos Estados Unidos. Para a ind\u00fastria qu\u00edmica, isso significa um uso muito mais calculado de produtos n\u00e3o apenas para evitar problemas de pragas, mas tamb\u00e9m para problemas de tempo e clima.<\/p>\n<p><strong>5) Terapia gen\u00e9tica<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Os produtores est\u00e3o escolhendo materiais mais geneticamente orientados do que nunca. As empresas est\u00e3o gastando mais tempo tentando descobrir quais genes est\u00e3o envolvidos em doen\u00e7as em plantas.
